Whether you’re looking to stay in London or New York, the best bargain is to be had on Easter Sunday and now is the time to book. Stats from OTA Insight, leading hotel revenue management solutions provider, show that patience is the key as pricing has been dropping lower the closer that we edge to the Easter break.

If holidaymakers book now, the average lowest price for a hotel stay in London on Easter Sunday is less than £150. In comparison, the best prices for Saturday night is currently around £210. The booking timeline shows that 100 days out from Easter Sunday hotel rooms in London were averaging at £160, this peaked at over £165 10-14 days later before dropping so bargain hunters were wise to keep a close eye on the pricing.

The margin of difference in the cost of a hotel stay in New York for Easter Saturday and Sunday is much larger, but the price drop trend is similar. At 100 days out from Easter Sunday best pricing peaked at just over $260 and has since consistently decreased with the best price is currently averaging at just over $190. In comparison, the Saturday night peaked at over $350 and if you book now it’ll put you back more than $300.

Adriaan Coppens, CEO and founder, OTA Insight, said:

“The difference between the hotel rates on the Saturday and Sunday nights in New York will be, in part, due to Easter Monday not being a public holiday in the U.S. But it’s great news for holidaymakers, especially Europeans looking to travel further afield and take advantage of the Easter bank holidays and last minute low prices.”

Information is based on data pulled for 15 and 16 April 2017, from 197 hotels in London and 165 hotels in New York based on 3, 4 and 5 star hotels.
